David L. Lawrence Convention Center

Pittsburgh, PA
Completion: 2003
Size: 1.5 million square feet

Architect: Rafael Viñoly Architects PC, New York City
Multimedia, telecommunications, acoustics: Shen Milsom & Wilke

Exhibition halls host a variety of tenants with needs ranging from telephone service to high-bandwidth international videoconferencing. We designed a telecommunications infrastructure to support both present and future demands for every user. Our freely reconfigurable system places these capabilities at every modular connector.

Multimedia design was provided for a range of meeting spaces. Again, flexibility was imperative. The infrastructure is compatible with owner-supplied, exhibitor-supplied, or rented audiovisual equipment.

Acoustic services focused on base-building noise and vibration issues and ensures a comfortable environment throughout all convention center spaces.
