De Montfort University is renowned in the UK for its radio and television curriculum. Heavily focused towards engineering, the university is recognized nationally as a center of excellence and has extensive links to local and national broadcasters.

After a competitive bid process, Shen Milsom & Wilke was appointed to design the new production and post-production facilities. These include 21 high-definition editing suites, two recording studios with multiple control rooms, a Foley/ADR facility, video and audio analysis laboratories, and a four-studio radio station.

All of these spaces can be linked in order to share equipment or to facilitate live broadcast from other areas of the facility. Media is stored on a centralized server, with student work managed via a digital asset management system.
