Medical Institute for Neurodevelopmental Disorders (MIND)

University of California at Davis
Completion: Summer 2003

Architect: Hammel Green and Abrahamson (HGA), Sacramento, CA
Audiovisual/multimedia, acoustics: Shen Milsom & Wilke/Paoletti, San Francisco

At MIND, physicians expert in neurodevelopment disorders see patients and conduct research. Our scope included the creation of a large multimedia network for recording and sharing patient sessions. Young people are examined in treatment rooms, each of which is equipped with discretely placed video cameras and microphones. These record the interaction between patients and clinicians. Also, three 12-seat conference rooms, a boardroom, and four doctors' conference rooms are equipped with cameras, screens, and videoconferencing capabilities.
