Completion: November 2003 Size: 99,600 square feet Architect: Hellmuth Obata + Kassabaum, St. Louis Acoustics: Shen Milsom & Wilke, Chicago This new library is designed to preserve and protect the collection of books and documents on the legend of Lincoln. Shen Milsom & Wilke provided acoustical finishes to create a quiet, calm atmosphere appropriate to the nature of the building. Noise and vibration control was important in the Lincoln reading room, a student classroom, conservatory labs, a multipurpose room that seats 250, a computer lab, and offices. | |
