Building security, a recent addition to Shen
Milsom & Wilke's services, is a logical extension
of our telecommunications and multimedia
consulting work. Our security team capably balances common sense and convenience with threat assessment and emergency planning. 

Security assessments
Life safety, asset protection, facility control,
traffic flow patterns, systems administration,
asset tracking, surveillance requirements,
networking, perimeter protection, technology integration, and future-use modifications are discussed and prioritized.

Security audits
Existing buildings are audited to accommodate changes in the building or the building’s users. Audits also address regulatory changes.

Design of asset and facility protection
Detailed design packages include specifications describing the equipment functionality, as well as drawings indicating device locations, suggested manufacturers and model numbers, connectivity and power supply requirements, and equipment block diagrams. 

Construction administration
To ensure that the initial design intent is
maintained, a project manager is assigned to monitor
the construction process. 

Commissioning and user training
We provide these services to make sure the systems we design are fully utilized and
optimized.

All work is in accordance with building security standards and guidelines, including those
issued by the General Services Administration
and the Department of Homeland Security.
